Immersive Trip to Oaxaca's Mountains


Location: Rural Mountain Communities of Oaxaca, Mexico
Timing: July 23-31 2027


Overview

The Oaxaca Mountains trip is an immersive and relationship-driven part of the Mexico program. Teams travel to remote mountain communities with limited outside support. HRS True Hope is one of the only consistent returning partners in these areas, allowing for long-term trust and sustainable collaboration. Over the course of a week, teams serve in three different communities — spending two days in each location. Volunteers live with local families, share meals, and participate in daily life.

Why Oaxaca Matters

We are partnering with community organizations in remote places that don't receive outside help. We return to those places year after year since 2017, establishing a long term partnership and creating a long term impact. We live with the people we serve when we are there so we can be present, create deep relationships, and know them.

Travel cost is $800 + Airfare

  • All work day events, meals, lodging, and local transportation arranged by True Hope.
  • Airfare will be self covered. Travel will be paid directly to airline of choice. True Hope does not cover travel changes or fees incurred by airline delays, cancellations, or participant delays.
  • After signup, True Hope team will coordinate with participants to help arrange arrange travel and arrival pickups.
